Introduction

The C3KE provides businesses in the Creative and Cultural sector with access to the knowledge and resources available through the partnerships universities, stimulating demand from business and supporting the capacity of universities to respond intelligently to business need.

The C3KE pulls together a dedicated group of leading academics and business development managers from across the Yorkshire Universities and has industry representation at local and national level.

Working closely with funding agencies and business support groups the C3KE provides a vehicle for inter-disciplinary and multi-sector collaboration, as well as mainstreaming and dissemination through high profile showcasing events.

It is our intention over the next 18 months to grow the partnership beyond the West Yorkshire sub-region. To this end the C3KE has pro-actively focused on raising its profile, resulting in invitations to deliver workshops and presentations at national and international level (The National Creative Clusters Conference in London; The CLORE Cultural Leadership Programme; the National Creative Industry Conference in Leeds). The C3KE has also been instrumental in actively supporting the Digital Research Unit which placed Huddersfield at 13th in the UK for creative cities in a Times survey.
